The Lucifer Theory: How to Make an Unknown Gender ND

If you are wanting to complete your set of ND's and are chasing that elusive unknown gender ND, here is the secret: Simply influence your bounceable egg when it is 3 or more days either male or female. I know this, because I have made 3 of these myself, applying these principles.

As we all know, influencing drops upon abandonment, but in the case of the ND's, it appears to make them ungendered. This also happened in our group, when another person influenced an egg female in an attempt to gift a female ND to somebody, it also gendered unknown.

Does this also work if you don't bounce the ND and keep it on your scroll?

I can't say for certain, but I would think the influence stays if the egg stays. I think that it's probably when the system removes the gender influence during the trip through the AP that "Unknown" is then selected. However, the NDs I have were all bounced, so I can't say for certain that it wouldn't work. I do know that I made an unknown gender ND using this method, so it seems like a good bet for people looking for one.

does bouncing by incubate-teleport work?

I believe the influence stays if it is teleported. At least the ND's breed page on the wiki says so.
